The recent announcement that T2 Tea will shut all of its outlets in Singapore marks the end of a short but colorful chapter in the city’s specialty beverage scene. Known for its vibrant packaging, experimental tea blends, and modern retail design, the Australian tea brand had built a recognizable presence in several major shopping districts since entering the Singapore market in 2017.
Its stores were often filled with shelves of bright tea tins, loose-leaf aromas, and curated accessories that appealed to both tea enthusiasts and casual shoppers looking for gifts or unique flavors.

T2 Tea’s Entry into Singapore
T2 Tea first entered Singapore with a flagship store at 313@Somerset, located at 313 Orchard Road, #01-20, Singapore 238895. Positioned along the busy Orchard Road shopping belt, the outlet attracted both locals and tourists exploring the area’s retail corridors.
The store introduced customers to the brand’s wide selection of teas, ranging from traditional black and green teas to more unconventional blends such as fruit infusions and dessert-inspired flavors. Its colorful merchandising and sampling culture helped the brand stand out among conventional tea retailers.
Expansion to Marina Central and HarbourFront
Following its Orchard debut, the brand expanded to Suntec City, located at 3 Temasek Boulevard, #01-340, Singapore 038983. Situated near the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, this outlet catered to office workers, conference visitors, and shoppers passing through the large mixed-use complex.
The third outlet opened at VivoCity, located at 1 HarbourFront Walk, #02-03, Singapore 098585. VivoCity, one of Singapore’s largest shopping malls and a gateway to Sentosa, gave the brand visibility among tourists and families visiting the waterfront shopping destination.
Closure of All Singapore Stores
Despite maintaining outlets in several high-traffic malls, T2 Tea has confirmed that all of its physical stores in Singapore will close. Reports indicate that the outlets are currently conducting clearance sales, with discounts offered on remaining inventory before the final closure date expected around late March 2026.
The company has not publicly disclosed the exact reasons behind the closure. However, the move follows earlier restructuring efforts that saw the brand withdraw from other international markets, including the United Kingdom.
Online Sales Will Continue
Although the physical stores will disappear from Singapore’s retail landscape, the brand itself is not completely leaving the market. Customers will still be able to purchase products through the company’s online store.
For many shoppers who remember browsing colorful tea tins at Orchard Road or picking up gift sets before festive seasons, the closure represents another example of how Singapore’s fast-changing retail environment continues to reshape which international brands remain in the city.
Changing Retail Landscape in Singapore
The departure of T2 Tea highlights the challenges facing specialty beverage brands operating in high-rent shopping malls. Even distinctive concepts with strong global branding must adapt to shifting consumer behavior, rising operating costs, and the growing shift toward online purchasing.
As Singapore’s retail scene evolves, the spaces once occupied by specialty tea boutiques may soon be replaced by new lifestyle brands and concepts seeking to capture the attention of shoppers in one of Asia’s most competitive retail markets.
